I ventured far out of my East London comfort zone to shoot this one! Toto's restaurant is an art deco mix of black leather, gold and white linen wrapped up in a grade II listed building in Knightsbridge. It serves beautiful Italian cuisine, and has experience and pedigree from La Gavroche behind it. If you want a special, opulent night out without pretentiousness, this is definitely one to try.

Wickenden Hutley - Interior Designers
Melissa Hutley and Charlie Wickenden make up this very talented new interior design duo. They asked me to photograph all their projects for their new website, www.wickendenhutley.com. From a lovely Cornwall cottage in Portscatho to their cool office in Parsons Green, they are definitely ones to watch.

Palomar Restaurant, Soho
The Palomar is a beautifully designed new Israeli restaurant opened in Soho, serving food inspired by Jerusalem and cooked by Head Chef Tomer who hails from the city itself. You get to sit right in front of the chefs, at a long thin bar, watching them cook and shout and laugh. The restaurant is the creation of Layo Paskin of Layo and Bushwacka fame (something I was particularly excited about being a 90's Ibiza stalwart!) and his immensely experienced sister Zoe. So I was very happy to be asked to do their photography. Definitely worth a visit for something different and fun in Soho. And make sure you have a chat with chef Papa behind the counter. Worth the visit in itself.

Test Kitchen - Cape Town
When I was in Cape Town at the start of the year I was commissioned to photograph the famous Test Kitchen. Now if you are looking to get a table here you need to be organised, I think there is about a three month waiting list having been voted the restaurant of the year and Chef Luke Dale Robert's being one of the best in the country. And I must mention that Luke is one of the nicest chefs I have ever photographed!
Test Kitchen is located in the Biscuit Mill in arty Woodstock, and every dish is a work of art. Luke has also opened another restaurant called Pot Luck Club at the top of the Biscuit Mill. A more relaxed, very cool little sister to Test Kitchen, just as difficult to get a reservation but the cocktails and view are worth it alone.

Bonnie Gull Seafood Cafe - Exmouth Market
Those clever people at Bonnie Gull Seaside Shack on Foley Street are opening a new restaurant on Exmouth Market next month called Bonnie Gull Seafood Cafe. They got me in to photograph some of their new recipes created by chef Luke Robinson, which were delicious! Pictured above is Mama's Sardines on toast, Crab complete with hammer, Scallops with Yorkshire chorizo, crab roll and the ultimate Po' Boy Roll consisting of deep fried oysters!

Mandibles, Woodstock Foundry - Cape Town
Back to the real grey London world with a bump and Cape Town is a distant memory already. So here is a little post to remind me of my absolute best find in the city. Mandibles is located in the uber cool Woodstock Foundry and is the most beautiful taxidermy shop run by Julia Jaki and Philipp Schulz. Philipp is the taxidermist. Julia is pictured above and is real, not stuffed. Needless to say I went home armed with many skulls, horns and eggs and a beautiful Blesbok winging its way to me in the South African Post!

Kirstenbosch Gardens - Cape Town
I'm coming to the end of my six weeks here in Cape Town and so I had to make sure I photographed the beautiful Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Nestled in the slopes at the base of Table Mountain, it is a vast tropical haven. And an amazing backdrop for their summer sunset concerts.
